The Children’s Museum in Easton is an award-winning, hands-on children’s museum centered on exploration, creativity, learning – and fun! Located in our Town’s original fire station - a captivating, 114 year-old historic building - in the village of North Easton, Massachusetts, The Museum recently celebrated 25 years of providing vibrant, engaging programs to families and children in Southeastern New England. With three floors of hands-on, interactive exhibits, a nationally certified outdoor learning center, and a dedicated staff. As we celebrated our 25th year we also celebrated that we have welcomed over 900,000 visitors during those years! Our mission is to extend the opportunity for early learning to all children and families, regardless of means or family circumstances, and ensure that the gift of learning is a gift that is available to all. In addition to programming and events focused on healthy living, art, music and creativity - over the past several years, the Museum has strengthened its focus and participation on STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering and Math] for early learners. Through our Science Hands-On programming with on-site Museum classes and events, and our Science Roadshow outreach programs, we challenge and engage children from pre-K to grade 3 with programs covering structures and strength, pre-historic discovery, forces and energy, science by the seasons, the science of sound and much, much more! Our STEM programming meets the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for Science and aligns with the National Common Core Standards. Our educators are certified through the Department of Education and Early Care and/or the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education of the Commonwealth. In 2014 we produced 126 outreach programs that brought the fun of hands-on science classes to more than 3,000 children and 580+ adults/educators in 26 cities and towns in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. From locally designed, internally produced activities, to partnerships with public and private schools, to the recent addition of our engaging MakerSpace, The Children's Museum in Easton has earned a reputation for innovation, quality and excellence.
