“Activism consists of efforts to promote, impede, or direct social, political, economic, or environmental change, or stasis.” Wikipedia. The Coalition for Progressive TeleMedicine was intended from the very beginning to be activists. We want to induce change. Lots of it – all over the world. Chartered in the State of Missouri as a 501c3 Not-for-Profit Organization, our mission statement says it all. “Help progress the state-of-the-art of TeleMedicine and encourage its adoption by forming a coalition of healthcare providers, industry experts, and corporate sponsorship so as to share needs, knowledge, techniques, and technologies across the globe in order to do the most good for the most people no matter where they may be.” Unlike other medical groups or associations, The Coalition for Progressive TeleMedicine is targeted at driving adoption in the field. We are not academics, a standards committee, or Washington lobbyists. We believe that telemedicine works and our simple goal is to help put real-world “knowledge, techniques, and technology” in the hands of those healthcare providers and patients that need it the most – as many as we can over as wide a footprint as possible. We take a very different approach. Our goal is to become a “go-to” centralized clearinghouse and facilitator for our membership that would help drive actual telemedicine projects – a hands-on single-point-of-contact general contractor with the thought leadership, administrative support, and technical engineering and consulting capabilities that are sorely needed by those small and often remote healthcare providers that would benefit the most. We want to help launch real projects for real people with real results. Join the Coalition.
