The Concilio is a Dallas-based nonprofit organization founded in 1981 that works to unlock education, health, and economic opportunities for Latino and other diverse families through grassroots outreach. It has reached more than a million people and runs culturally responsive parent engagement programs across 24 regional school districts. These programs empower about 11,000 families each year to pursue stronger academic achievement, better health, and fulfilled potential. In addition to parent engagement, The Concilio offers financial coaching, crisis intervention, cultural competency training and education, and vaccine outreach and education. The organization has formed partnerships to broaden its reach, including a 2022 collaboration with Faith Family Academy to provide Parents Advocating for Student Excellence courses.
