The diaTribe Foundation aims to empower readers with valuable, actionable information that inspires hope for a better future and helps them lead happier, healthier lives. The diaTribe Foundation was founded by Kelly Close, whose passion for diabetes stems from her extensive professional work and personal experience living with diabetes for over 35 years. From 2006 to 2021, she served as editor-in-chief, overseeing the nonprofit’s website and weekly newsletters. Since 2002, she has also led Close Concerns, a healthcare information firm specializing in scientific, regulatory, and advocacy developments related to diabetes and obesity. In 2009, she founded dQ&A, an insights partner that works with companies to drive more confident diabetes decision-making. As a result of her legacy, today diaTribe newsletters are sent weekly to more than 600,000 people with diabetes and their families.
