The Evangelical Catholic operates within the religious institutions sector, focusing on mobilizing lay Catholics to participate in evangelization beyond traditional parish structures. It supports the mission of lay Catholics by identifying, forming, and sustaining their personal apostolates, which leverage each individual’s unique sphere of influence in daily life such as work, family, and community settings. The organization serves clergy, parish staff, and lay believers by providing consulting to identify mission-minded parishioners, preparing them through formation and training, and offering ongoing care as they undertake mission work. Based in Madison, Wisconsin, the group positions itself as a catalyst for empowering faithful laypeople to be active contributors to the Church’s mission in the world. A recent development includes the launch of Reach More, a mission process designed to extend outreach into local communities. The Evangelical Catholic operates with a relatively small to mid-sized footprint, emphasizing formation, support, and coordination to expand lay apostolates globally.
