What is The Family Peace Project? Visit us at https://www.facebook.com/fppathens The Family Peace Project is a faith-based, (501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing a place of refuge and resources to victims of domestic violence. Elizabeth Teeters, who felt victims of our community should not have to travel thirty-five miles to the nearest shelter and resources, founded the Family Peace Project in 1996. Our organization currently receives funding entirely by grants and donations from churches, businesses, individuals, and foundations. It is community-caring people like you, who accomplish the tasks, gather the resources and help us reach our goals and set new ones. Each small success is added to the overall mission of the Family Peace Project to create overall growth and renewal. The mission of the Family Peace Project is to protect, educate, assist, care and empower victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault in Henderson County, Texas. The Family Peace Project to offer a faith-based program for healing and moving forward in recovery. The Family Peace Project owns and operates two safe-house facilities within the county. As an additional benefit, the Family Peace Project owns and operates The Emporium Resale Shop. The Emporium Resale Shop enables the Family Peace Project to offer victims and their children clothing and household items when re-establishing a new home. The public is welcome to shop in the Emporium as well. Proceeds from the Shop are used to eliminate Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. It is only possible to accomplish the work of the Family Peace Project because of community-caring people like you, who help us accomplish the tasks, gather the resources and to reach our goals and set new ones.
