Welcome and please see the site's about page at http://thefanzine.com/about.  We are a not-for-profit  online general culture magazine. In an age where a lot of quippy, short attention span addled info is dominating the internet, we offer a less frenetic approach to the world of web publishing, taking cues from the history of literary new journalism imagined into existence by the audacious editor Clay Felker.  We are grassroots, and have opted for the critical eye, as that form of journalism is the most affordable time-wise for the writers (donate to the cause and you can see for yourselves what kind of journalism we could produce, with the proper budget).  We also offer a very select assortment of new poetry and fiction, and have begun a publishing imprint with the present goal of one title a year.  Fanzine is unique, stubborn, and as much a pleasure to read I hope (and believe) as it is to edit. -CM
