The Florentine is an English-language magazine published in Florence, Tuscany, offering coverage of news, classifieds, events, art and culture, food and wine, lifestyle and travel. It began in 2005 as a grassroots publication for Florence's English-speaking community, created by Nita and Tony Tucker with the Italian firm B’Gruppo srl; after the Tuckers relocated, the core team continued publishing. The magazine is issued twelve times a year and distributed for free at more than 130 locations across Florence and Tuscany, with a New York City presence added in 2015, and it circulates about 10,000 copies per month with more than 800 subscribers worldwide. Beyond the magazine, The Florentine operates The Florentine Press, which publishes books about Florence's hidden secrets, art, language and culture, and The Florentine + offers translation and language consultancy services. Its reach is broadened by sister channels including The Tuscan Times, Visit Prato and The Florentine Literary Review.
