The Forests Dialogue is an environmental services organization based in New Haven, Connecticut. Founded in 1998, it has convened more than 2,500 leaders to address complex forest issues through initiatives, using a multi-stakeholder dialogue approach that progresses from trust-building to tangible, consensus-based outcomes. The organization aims to provide an ongoing, inclusive platform for international forest-sector leaders to develop mutual trust, shared understanding, and collaborative solutions around sustainable forest management. It is governed by a steering committee representing diverse stakeholder perspectives from around the world. With a modest staff, TFD coordinates processes that translate dialogue into practical actions affecting forest resource use and protection.
