The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness is a Wisconsin-based nonprofit organization focused on eliminating health disparities that affect Black women and girls. Established in 2012, the group aims to empower this community to achieve healthier, more thriving lives by addressing barriers related to chronic diseases and social and economic inequities that disproportionately impact this population in Dane County and the state. Operating within the wellness and fitness services sector, the foundation develops programs and partnerships to mobilize women, communities, and collaborators toward transformative health outcomes, including care coordination and perinatal support through new initiatives such as Umama Birthing Services. Recent collaborations with local agencies and other organizations, including city-level partnerships, demonstrate an emphasis on expanding access to doula care, maternal health services, and related support across South Central Wisconsin.
