The Greenbrier is a luxury resort and grand hotel situated on about 10,000 acres in the Allegheny Mountains, located in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Its history dates to 1778 and it is designated a National Historic Landmark. The property provides a mix of lodging, recreation, wellness, and private residences, including five championship golf courses (one private course at The Greenbrier Sporting Club), a tennis facility with indoor and outdoor courts, a 40,000-square-foot spa, The Greenbrier Clinic for executive health, shopping, and a guests-only casino. In 2009, it was purchased by James C. Justice II and underwent a substantial restoration. The resort hosts The Greenbrier Classic, a PGA TOUR and FedExCup event, and it plans to launch The Greenbrier Medical Institute on the grounds.
