The Healdsburg School (THS) was founded with the goal of being the premier high school preparatory school in Sonoma County. Our innovative program is grounded in contemporary educational research, and is in partnership with the International Baccalaureate Organization of schools, recognized for its academic excellence throughout the world. In this increasingly competitive educational arena, it is important that Sonoma County parents have a different choice in education; one that is focused on the needs of the whole child, the many ways in which children come to learn and know, and a responsible, practical, modern, approach to educating children for the challenges of their time. With an emphasis on global perspectives, we strive to promote a culture of understanding of the world as a place with many different opinions, voices and ideas. Integration of the “Caring School Community” program into the daily life of the school community provides the link between the tangible and the conceptual appreciation of differences. The vision of THS is to prepare students to be contributing members of their local and global community. Children are eager to learn about the world and their place in it. THS uses that natural curiosity as an engine for academic achievement, accomplishing this by creating a culture of learning that focuses on three fundamental areas: rigorous academics, civic responsibility, and character development.
