The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School operates as a public charter school focused on delivering a standards-based, academically rigorous curriculum designed to develop students’ intellect, inquiry skills, imagination, and integrity. The school emphasizes individualized instruction and engages learners through a joyful, engaging educational environment, led by experienced teachers. A notable feature is its Teacher Residency program, where Inspired Teaching Residents train toward full certification under master teachers, contributing to classroom practice while they prepare to teach in other DC public and public charter schools. Located in Washington, DC, the organization positions itself within education administration programs, aiming to influence teacher training and student education more broadly. A recent development noted is the launch of the DC Changemaker Collaborative in March 2018, a collaboration involving Ashoka, Inspired Teaching, TEACH-NOW, and local educators to foster changemaking in the district.
