The International Council on Clean Transportation is an independent nonprofit that conducts research and technical and scientific analysis for environmental regulators. Its work seeks to improve the environmental performance and energy efficiency of road, marine, and air transportation systems and their fuels, with the aim of safeguarding public health and helping to mitigate climate change. Based in Washington, DC, ICCT operates as a think tank focused on transportation policy and regulation. It engages with policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders worldwide, as demonstrated by its participation in the Transport Decarbonisation Summit 2026 in Potsdam and by collaborating with the Kerala State Electricity Board Limited to develop an electric freight roadmap through a high-level workshop.
