The Kentucky Welding Institute is the premier industry focused educational experience. Starting with industry in mind- interviews with project managers, superintendents, weld inspectors, foreman's, and welders set the stage for exactly how our curriculum would be presented and carried out. We offer American Welding Society Welder Certifications including SMAW and FCAW plate certs for unlimited thickness and any position. In addition, we offer certifications for Combo Pipe on monster coupons in the 6GR. These tests only get students passed the entry level weld test. In addition, as we listened to industry we cultivate a strong work ethic and safety culture awarding our students OSHA 30, NCCER Craft Welding Certifications, ASHI CPR/First Aid and encourage TWIC and CCS Toxicology cards.
Our school day starts at 6am sharp. Students are signed and locked in, ready to weld. Foreman positions are assigned and hot work permits and JSA's (job safety assessments) are completed and signed by every student prior to the work day. In our 6 month- 40 hour work week course students receive 960 hours of hands on welding industry instruction. Our strict attendance, behavior, and drug test standards ensure employers are not only getting great welders, but excellent employees.
Typically weld school means green booth welder. To combat that KWI offers an arsenal of out of position welding scenarios. Everything from welding outside on engine driven rigs, mirror simulators, and restricted tube simulators to pipe lab, on scaffold welding, and high pressure boiler tube slope simulators. A graduate branded by KWI means they have worked in leadership, team, and subordinate roles-- understand workplace documents like blue prints, hot work permits, and JSA's-- is a proven worker, early riser, and job finisher--
If your company is looking for hard working, company focused, safety oriented, welders then look no further. The Kentucky Welding Institute has your next hire.
