The LAMP is a New York City–based nonprofit that brings 21st-century media literacy and creation skills to youth, parents, and educators. It centers its work on The Three Cs—Comprehend, Create, and Challenge all forms of media—aiming to foster critical thinking and active engagement. Workshops run during and after school, in the summer, and on weekends, complemented by free public events and trainings and interactive online resources for classrooms and households nationwide. The organization partners with dozens of public schools and community-based organizations in high-need communities, delivering equipment, materials, and teachers directly to schools, community centers, and libraries across New York City. Its approach goes beyond technical skills, tying digital programming to professional development and broader learning outcomes, including record attendance and improvements in math and English Language Arts, guided by core values such as critical curiosity, process over product, media literacy as a basic need, freedom from censorship, and access for all.
