Founded in 1987, The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington is a nationally recognized, well-respected, New York-based civil rights law firm dedicated to social justice. The Law Offices is the largest African American-owned law firm on Long Island, and is one of the top law firms owned by people of color across New York State, as designated by the New York Law Journal. With nearly four decades of experience, the firm brings deep expertise in matters, including, but not limited to, civil rights litigation, voting rights, employment discrimination, police misconduct, wrongful death, and criminal law on both the state and federal levels. Aside from providing excellent legal services, a primary mission of The Law Offices is to provide a voice to those who are underrepresented while serving as a vehicle to seek justice for those who have been wronged. The firm’s work reflects a long-standing commitment to challenging systemic injustice on Long Island, including its successful efforts to dismantle “at-large” voting systems in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington is deeply invested in community-based advocacy, public education, and grassroots engagement as part of its broader social justice mission. The firm proudly supports two community-based social action organizations, The Corridor Counts, Inc. and Long Island Advocates for Police Accountability, Inc, which, for over ten years, has been leading the charge for advocating for positive change in communities of color. In addition, mentorship is another central pillar of the firm’s mission. Through its long-standing summer internship program, the firm is committed to training, supporting, and inspiring the next generation of civil rights attorneys. With a legacy defined by courage, integrity, and impact, The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington remains a leader in civil rights advocacy and continues to shape the socio-legal landscape on Long Island and beyond.
