The Loppet Foundation is a mid-sized nonprofit based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, whose mission centers on connecting people with outdoor experiences to foster community. In partnership with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, dating back to 2003, it operates the Twin Cities' notable cross-country ski trails along with hiking and running paths, mountain bike trails, a snow tubing hill, an alpine hill, paddling facilities, and nature-based programming at The Trailhead in Theodore Wirth Park. It also offers summer adventure camps for youth and programs in partnership with Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden. The organization is widely recognized for coordinating large-scale sporting events that have helped shape Nordic skiing in the United States, as well as more than 50 annual events including the City of Lakes Loppet and Luminary Loppet. Its offerings include youth-focused programs such as Minne-Loppet and Junior Loppet that guide North Minneapolis youth toward outdoor skills and confidence, while adult clubs provide group recreation and pathways to more competitive programs. A notable recent development is the introduction of a Performance Team within Loppet Cycle Works for the 2025 season.
