The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) is an independent regulator within the Dutch government administration. It aims to create opportunities and options for both businesses and consumers, and provides free information and advice through ConsuWijzer to help resolve problems and understand rights. If a complaint indicates a company has violated the law, ACM can intervene and take action. The ACM was established on 1 April 2013 through the merger of the Netherlands Consumer Authority, the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa), and OPTA. It is based in The Hague, South Holland, and in September 2024 issued Guidelines on the Digital Services Act for online service providers as part of its regulatory work.
