Founded in 1993, The Network Journal is a monthly print and online business magazine for Black professionals and business owners and is dedicated to educating and empowering its readers by: providing news and commentary on issues that affect the growth of business and the advancement of professionals in the workplace; featuring successful entrepreneurs and professionals who offer insights on business- and career-building strategies; highlighting business and career trends in key industries; and providing information on valuable resources in the government, corporate and non-for-profit sectors. In addition to the magazine, TNJ hosts two signature event that honor professionals in the business world: 25 Influential Black Women in Business Awards Luncheon (March); and the 40 Under Forty Achievement Awards Dinner (June). TNJ has been honored by the U. S. Small Business Administration for its "outstanding commitment to America's small business,"; the National Minority Business Council, Inc., for "outstanding performance in media communications to the minority community,"; and by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency for "Outstanding Commitment and Positive Contribution to the MBE Community." It has been featured on CNN and Fox Television Network, and has been profiled in The Daily News, Diaspora Magazine and several other publications.
