The Ohio Floor Company traces its origin back to the early 1960's, when George Bear of Sugarcreek founded Bear Floor Sanding. The primary business of the company at that time was installing and refinishing residential and gymnasium hardwood floors. In 1983, the company was purchased by Steve Yoder and became Mid-Ohio Hardwood Floors. MOHF grew steadily and continued to expand the installation of residential and high end hardwood maple gym floors. In 2005, Mid-Ohio Hardwood Floors was renamed The Ohio Floor Company to encompass the many types of florring installed by the company. Today, The Ohio Floor Company does a wide range of residential and sports flooring work. Beginning in 2008, Ohio Floor has been a part of the NCAA March Madness tournaments, providing portable sports surfaces each year, including the coveted men's final four floor in 2012 that was installed at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
