The Outreach Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to providing food, safe water, medical care, and education to children and families in need — both in the United States and around the world. Founded in 2004 after a pivotal trip to Nkungi, Tanzania, Outreach was created with a simple belief: every person deserves access to life’s most basic needs. What began as a response to hunger has grown into a global mission built on four core promises: • Feed the Hungry Nutrient-rich, great-tasting meals — including three formulas developed by Iowa State University specifically for U.S. families — packaged by volunteers and distributed through food banks, community partners, and international programs. • Provide Clean Water Sustainable water systems and purification solutions that bring safe, reliable drinking water to schools and communities. • Offer Medical Care Mobile and on-site medical services that reach underserved rural areas, improving health outcomes for those with limited access to care. • Support Education Children’s centers, schools, uniforms, supplies, and vocational training that help break cycles of poverty and open doors to opportunity. Across the country, Outreach partners with businesses, civic groups, faith-based organizations, schools, government agencies, and nonprofits to host high-impact volunteer meal-packaging events. These events unite people of all ages in a hands-on, energetic, meaningful experience that directly supports families facing hunger. To date, Outreach has facilitated the distribution of hundreds of millions of meals and continues to expand its clean-water, medical, and education initiatives in communities that need them most. At its heart, The Outreach Program is driven by compassion, community, and the belief that when people come together with purpose, lives change.
