The Peregrine Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving birds of prey in the wild worldwide, using captive breeding, scientific research, habitat protection, and education to advance its mission. Based in Boise, Idaho, the organization traces its origins to a 1970 founding at Cornell University and moved to Boise in 1984, with the Velma Morrison Interpretive Center opening to the public in 1993. Today, it breeds two raptor species for release: Aplomado Falcons and California Condors. Its work serves conservation practitioners, researchers, educators, policymakers, and the broader public engaged in raptor conservation, addressing threats through integrated programs that combine breeding, field release, habitat stewardship, and education. A recent development is a partnership with the ZSL EDGE of Existence Programme to support two EDGE Fellowships for threatened Asian raptor species.
