The Philanthropy Connection is a philanthropic fundraising organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, focused on collective giving by women to support Boston-area nonprofits addressing systemic inequities. Members pool annual contributions and distribute grants in the spring, with participation levels ranging from smaller to larger membership investments, while all members receive the same benefits. The organization emphasizes community and learning, offering educational events that help members evaluate nonprofit proposals and financial statements, as well as opportunities to engage with grantees and partners in the local philanthropic landscape. Its model relies on a largely volunteer staff, keeping administrative costs low and allowing members to choose varying levels of involvement from attending the grant awards to participating on grant teams or committees. In recent activity, the organization participated in the MetroWest Conference for Women, where a member spoke on a panel about networking with purpose. The Philanthropy Connection positions itself within the philanthropic funding sector, serving women who want to engage in informed, collective giving to support local nonprofits in the greater Boston area.
