The Phoenix Symphony, based in Phoenix, Arizona, is Arizona’s largest performing arts organization and a key cultural asset. It presents a range of traditional and contemporary orchestral programming in Symphony Hall and at venues across the Valley, performed by its renowned musicians and supported by foundations, corporations, and individuals. The core purpose of the ensemble is to provide the joy of live music as a catalyst for discovery, knowledge, compassion, and connection. Through education and community outreach, the orchestra reaches more than 120,000 students annually and creates opportunities for tens of thousands of adults experiencing homelessness, in Alzheimer’s care facilities, in hospitals, and in hospices. In March 2026, The Phoenix Symphony announced the appointment of Paolo Bortolameolli as its Virginia G. Piper Music Director, reflecting ongoing development of its artistic leadership.
