The Police Treatment Centres is a registered charity in the United Kingdom funded by voluntary donations from serving police officers and several police services, including the British Transport Police, the Civil Nuclear Constabulary and the Ministry of Defence Police. Officers contribute a weekly £1.30 from their pay to support its work. It operates two centres that provide rest, recuperation and treatment for officers who are ill or injured, with the aim of helping them return to better health. The centres are located at St Andrews in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and Castlebrae in Auchterarder, Perthshire. Each year, about four thousand officers attend, with most receiving intensive physiotherapy and others seeking help for stress-related conditions, respite, or recuperation after illness or operation. The organisation is based in Harrogate and serves personnel primarily from northern England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, along with contributions from the British Transport Police, the Civil Nuclear Constabulary and the Ministry of Defence Police.
