The Policy Lab was established in 2011 to help organizations and enterprises achieve better impact by design. Our founders worked together at the United Nations to address a fundamental challenge: How to achieve positive impact in diverse and sometimes unfamiliar local contexts. They found a key obstacle to addressing this challenge effectively stemmed from two things: a lack of strategic, impact-oriented local knowledge, and an absence of techniques for applying such information explicitly to the design of context-relevant solutions. 

In today’s world this challenge is faced across multiple sectors. We use the approaches developed by our founders, as well as others, to help our clients in private and public sectors create the impact they seek, both within their organizations, and in the contexts in which they work.
