The RAM Companies is a real estate firm based in Scarborough, Maine, focused on acquiring, developing, and managing a diverse portfolio. Its holdings include Class-A office complexes, large industrial facilities, retail centers, luxury condominium communities, and historic properties. Founded in the early 1970s by Howard A. Goldenfarb, the company began with renovations in Portland’s Old Port Exchange district that are credited with helping spur revitalization. RAM expanded beyond Maine to include residential, retail, and mixed-use developments across New England and South Florida, and has pursued projects in the United States, England, Israel, and Belgium. In January 2026, RAM acquired a former Sonoco industrial warehouse in Scarborough after Sonoco sold assets to the company.
