Rhodes School for the Performing Arts is a fine art, magnet charter school that prepares students for lifelong success by providing a classical, arts-based instructional program that is rigorous, relevant, and consistently meets or exceeds state and national standards. RSPA is a Title I school. 80% of TRS students are low-income, 96% are a minority, and more than 35% are at-risk for academic failure. The overwhelming majority of RSPA families reside within the communities of Harris County and the Greater Houston area, all of which are targeted areas in need of special assistance to address systemic blight, poverty, juvenile delinquency, and illiteracy. Despite these odds, 2014 has been a monumental year for RSPA. Not only are we the FIRST charter school in the country to receive designation as a Magnet School by the U.S. Department of Education but as of 2014, RSPA was awarded 4 out of 6 possible distinctions making us a 4 Star School of Distinction.
