The Shakespeare Hospice is a charity that provides free specialist care and support to people living with a life-limiting illness, beginning at diagnosis and extending to family and carers where appropriate. Its care is tailored to individual needs, enabling patients to receive high-quality hospice care while remaining in their own homes and communities. The organization operates through three core services—Day Hospice, Hospice at Home, and Family Support—delivering nursing care, therapies, as well as psychological and social support. In 2013, the Family Support Service was expanded to include Young People’s Services, offering care for young people with life-limiting illness, support for young carers, bereavement support, and work experience opportunities. The Shakespeare Hospice is based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, and functions within the nonprofit sector to deliver palliative care to the local community. In January 2025, it was announced as the official charity for the Shakespeare Marathon and Half Marathon, a recent development in its community engagement.
