The mission of the Society of Arts + Crafts is to support and celebrate craft makers and their creativity, with the intention of building and sustaining a vibrant community to shape the future of craft. Our values are embodied in four statements:

Craft Improves Our Lives: As an integral part of our culture, craft helps us understand who we are and where we are going.
The Maker’s Story Is Our Story: By bringing the makers’ stories front and center, we encourage a richer understanding of who we are as a culture and a society.
The Society Brings Old and New Together: We respect the traditions and values of craft while connecting the field to new and diverse voices, perspectives, and ideas.
The Society Creates New Pathways For All: We are committed to excellence in the field and to creating new pathways and points of engagement for all.

From these core values we have created a five-year strategic plan. Our goal is to enhance our influence on the field of craft, offer impactful programs, and recognize outstanding achievements. We feature educational information in easy-to-understand formats via studio visits and artist talks that showcase the field’s impressive creativity and capabilities.
