The Soldiers Project is a nonprofit in mental health care that provides free and confidential counseling to post-9/11 U.S. military veterans and their loved ones. Counseling is offered pro bono in the private offices of licensed mental health professionals, and the organization serves all military branches regardless of discharge status, as well as spouses, partners, parents, siblings, friends, and children. Founded in 2004, it has logged tens of thousands of pro bono counseling hours across six states, including California, New York, Illinois, Wyoming, Washington, and Pennsylvania. The organization is based in North Hollywood, California, and operates as a small- to mid-sized nonprofit focused on accessible mental health care for veterans and their networks. In 2018, The Soldiers Project launched a Peer Support program to provide care navigation for veterans seeking access to housing, education, job training, and other needs.
