Founded in 1917 and based in Manistique in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, The State Savings Bank of Manistique operates as a small, independent community bank. It serves local customers from its Manistique headquarters and maintains additional offices in Beulah, Benzonia, and Frankfort, Michigan. The bank's regional growth includes a 2011 merger with Valley Bank & Trust of Cherokee, Iowa. Late in 2024, longtime leader Mark Larche retired from the bank. Regional office leadership has evolved in recent years, with Kassie Leach promoted to manager of the Beulah and Benzonia offices in 2020, and Renee Tondu named Beulah office manager in 2022 alongside Leach’s expanded HR duties. In 2022, Jim Richardson joined the Frankfort office as manager.
