The Strategic Organizing Center is a Washington, DC-based, mission-driven hub that develops strategies and implements tactics for transformational labor campaigns aimed at challenging corporate power. It partners with workers and its affiliates—the Service Employees International Union, the Communication Workers of America, and the United Farm Workers—to strengthen organizing and grow a vibrant labor movement. Together with workers and unions, SOC drives strategies and tactics that support some of the largest organizing initiatives currently underway in the United States. The organization is a small operation with a lean staff. In May 2026, SOC participated in Ball Without Billionaires in New York, a fashion event where workers from companies including Amazon, Whole Foods, The Washington Post, Starbucks and Uber modeled outfits created by ethically minded designers, alongside affiliated unions.
