The Surety & Fidelity Association of America (SFAA) is a nonprofit trade association based in Washington, D.C., whose members are active in the suretyship sector. Collectively, member companies account for a large share of surety and fidelity bonds written in the United States, and SFAA is licensed as a rating or advisory organization in all states and designated by state insurance departments as a statistical agent for fidelity and surety reporting. The association represents its member companies before federal, state, and local government agencies and maintains departments handling statistical information, regulatory filings, publications, government affairs, membership, and underwriting. It operates as a small to mid-sized nonprofit focused on coordinating industry policy and regulatory engagement and on providing statistical reporting to its members. In March 2026, SFAA, alongside the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, hosted a Federal Legislative Fly-in on Capitol Hill to highlight the role of surety bonding in safeguarding taxpayer dollars on federally supported projects.
