The United Church of Canada is Canada's largest Protestant denomination, formed in 1925 through the union of Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregational, and the General Council of the Local Union Churches. It is based in Etobicoke, Ontario, and operates within the Religious Institutions sector, supported by a workforce of more than a thousand people. The church describes its mission as strengthening one another to work, through God's grace, toward a better world, and it pursues collaboration with other churches, faith traditions, and people of goodwill to reduce poverty and protect those who are most vulnerable.

As a national faith organization, it maintains a broad presence across Canada and engages in governance and community initiatives. In 2026, the church announced that its General Secretary, Michael Blair, will retire in the fall of 2026, with a search underway for a successor.
