The Woodlands Preparatory School is a private, non-sectarian school for Pre-School through 12th grade. Our story began in 2000, when The Woodlands Preparatory School was founded as a college-preparatory day school for families seeking small classes with high academic standards. Our current facility opened in 2002 on a wooded 18-acre campus just outside The Woodlands. The first senior class graduated in May 2008, and since then, our graduates have consistently earned admission to their top-choice colleges.

Since its early days, students have been drawn to our school from around the world, partly due to our status as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Our location near The Woodlands, an affluent master-planned community with outstanding amenities and a high quality of life, is another draw for international families. With a growing population of talented students from dozens of countries and a tradition of strong academics, we saw the opportunity to build a more international learning community. In the fall of 2013, under new ownership, we began to lay plans that would transform The Woodlands Preparatory School into a top-choice private school for families desiring an international education.

In 2014, with the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme already in place, we initiated the process for adding the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme to our existing AP offerings. The Woodlands Preparatory School is currently a candidate for both the MYP and DP. Our goal for authorization is Fall, 2015 for the DP and Spring, 2016 for the MYP.

The Woodlands Preparatory School’s mission is to convene an international learning community that develops students into leaders with integrity through rigorous academics, intercultural understanding, and service to humanity.
