The company was started in April of 1955 by George Sprenkle, Bill Sprenkle and Harold Smith, operating as Yorkaire Cooling and Heating Sales. From their original location on Norway Street in York, Yorkaire Cooling and Heating Sales made their mark as one of the top mechanical contractors in central Pennsylvania. As market conditions have changed, we too have changed. In October of 2001, the Yorkaire, Inc. name was changed to The Yorkaire Group. Our new name is to help you, our valued customer, understand our true identity. The Yorkaire Group provides mechanical contracting and combustion technology related services primarily to the industrial market. Today The Yorkaire Group operates from a 10,000 square foot facility on Whiteford Road. Our staff of trained fabrication and installation personnel compliment a very capable team of project managers, engineers and support workforce. The Yorkaire Group's focus in the new millennium is directed in determining how we can help our customer's with their toughest problems by implementing the disciplines we've learned in the mechanical contracting and specialty combustion product areas.
