Thirsty Duck, LP is a small civil engineering firm based in Trinity, Florida. The company provides floating outlets and skimmers for stormwater detention systems, aimed at delivering a steadier outflow and optimizing detention storage. Depending on site-specific design criteria, its solutions can reduce the required detention volume by as much as 50%, freeing land for new development or increasing capacity in retrofit projects.

Notable characteristics include a nearly steady flow, self-skimming to prevent debris passage, durable materials suitable for stormwater environments, and minimal maintenance requirements. They are used to minimize detention footprints, lower design water levels, and enhance volumes available for water-quality treatment, supporting redevelopment or capacity improvements.
