Our Company History
Founded in 1950 by Thomas & Margaret Giel, our company was incorporated in 1974. During the 1980’s, founders and son worked to transform the “mom and pop” shop to a corporation that today has 40+ employees, with 35+ full-time trucks to service their customer’s needs.

Edward B. Giel assumed Ownership and Presidency of the company following his father’s retirement in 1989. Ed has built and expanded the business over to years so that key staff members in the service, sales, accounting, inventory & production departments run the daily operations.

Candice Giel Brown is Ed’s oldest daughter and currently Vice President of the company.

Candice is in the process of purchasing the company from Ed and she will be the 3rd generation owner of Thomas V. Giel Garage Doors, Inc.

Candice along with the management team run the day to day operations.

Thomas V. Giel Garage Doors, Inc. furnishes and installs garage doors, openers, entry, patio & storm doors, louvered pergolas, retractable & aluminum awnings, and retractable screens for residential and commercial customers.

We work with customers to help discover what is important for them when replacing, maintaining, and servicing any of our products. We are proud to offer honest quality workmanship, Thomas V. Giel Corporation backs up their work with a “Written Labor Warranty”. The company also follows the IDA Code of Business Conduct and Regional/National and Building Safety Codes. Employees attend monthly safety meetings, on site education classes, and all crews are trained in First Aid and CPR for everyone’s protection.
