ThunderWorks is a Durham, North Carolina-based manufacturer founded in 2009 that focuses on pet comfort and behavior aids. It markets two brands, ThunderShirt and ThunderLeash, whose products are used and recommended by veterinarians and trainers around the world and are sold through Petsmart, Petco, and numerous other pet retailers. The flagship ThunderShirt uses gentle pressure applied to a dog’s or cat’s torso to help reduce anxiety and fear in situations such as thunderstorms, fireworks, separation anxiety, and travel, providing a non-pharmacological option for calming. The product family also includes ThunderEase, which mimics calming pheromones and is available as diffusers, sprays, and collars, along with ThunderSnap Leash, a quick-attachment leash system incorporating magnets and a secure latch. In 2021, ThunderWorks launched ThunderBus, a service intended to help dogs with anxiety, representing a recent expansion of its offerings.
