Thyme Herbal operates as a private herbal practice in Amherst, Massachusetts, offering herbal consultations along with apprenticeships and workshops. Led by Brittany Nickerson, who identifies as a community herbalist, health educator, and cook, the practice draws on training in Western Herbal Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Ayurveda. Its approach centers on empowering individuals to manage their health, with an emphasis on preventing illness at home, supporting holistic wellness, and promoting ecological sustainability.

The client base includes people seeking natural health guidance and those pursuing hands-on learning through its educational offerings. In the broader alternative medicine field, Thyme Herbal positions itself as a community-focused provider that combines treatment with practical instruction, and it planned to launch an online version of its introductory course, Art of Home Herbalism, in March 2015.
