Tirana International Airport (TIA) is Albania's main international gateway, located about 15 km from the capital, Tirana. It serves as a key link between Albania and Europe and beyond, handling millions of passengers each year, including those in the Albanian and Balkan diaspora. The airport has shown rapid growth, increasing traffic from about 600,000 passengers in 2005 to 10.7 million in 2024, and it is positioned as a leading facility in the Western Balkans.

Since December 2020, TIA has been managed by the Kastrati Group under a concession that runs until 2040, with ongoing plans to expand infrastructure and improve service quality and safety through modernization and technology. A recent development is the May 2026 announcement of a partnership with Vodafone Albania to deploy Airbus' security and mission-critical communications solution at the airport.
