TMAC serves as the Texas representative of the MEP National Network, a public-private partnership under the NIST-MEP program. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, TMAC operates across eight regional offices and collaborates with Texas-based manufacturers to strengthen their products, processes, technology, and people. Founded in 1995, the organization has worked with more than 4,700 organizations to pursue improvements in revenue, costs, and employment. Independent client surveys report cumulative impacts including $7.1 billion in new or retained sales, $2.1 billion in cost savings or avoidance, and more than 65,005 Texas jobs created or retained. TMAC emphasizes building in-house capability to sustain improvements, rather than leaving a to-do list for clients to complete on their own. As part of the public-private MEP network, TMAC is hosted by a consortium of institutions including Lamar University, Southwest Research Institute, Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, Texas Tech University, the University of Texas at Arlington, the University of Texas at El Paso, the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, and the University of Houston Clear Lake - Pearland.
