Together Chicago was founded in 2016 out of a shared conviction that more could be done to address the root causes of violence in our city. As gun violence reached its highest levels in two decades, business, faith, community, non-profit, civic, and government leaders began meeting to explore solutions. Through six months of collaboration, they discovered that one of Chicago’s greatest challenges was the lack of communication and coordination across racial, economic, cultural, and faith lines.

From those conversations, Together Chicago was born — a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to catalyzing faith, business, community, and government leaders to inspire hope and affect peace and justice in the communities we serve.

We leverage private-sector initiatives and expertise with existing programs of the City of Chicago, neighborhood organizations, and vibrant church communities, serving as a catalyst for lasting change. Our work centers on five key initiatives: violence reduction, education, economic development, gospel justice, and faith community mobilization.
