Touchstone Research Laboratory is one of the most creative and innovative organizations is the US.  Touchstone sits on a two-acre campus, also known as The Millennium Centre, which houses all of the manufacturing and research equipment, scientists, engineers, and Ph. D’s to create the next-generation of ideas and innovations. Touchstone has a world-class research facility, materials research expertise, a growing patent portfolio, and is well-known for taking new technologies from ideation, commercialization, and spinning out those inventions as businesses.
One spin-out company includes CFOAM (www.cfoam.com), which is a foam made from coal. This business went public on the ASX in 2016 and was the 2nd best performing IPO. 
The invention of CFOAM initiated another spin-out, Touchstone Advanced Composites (www.TouchstoneAC.com ) , which manufactures the tools (molds), made primarily from CFOAM, for next-generation aircraft and rocket parts.  
Another, Touchstone Testing Laboratory (www.TouchstoneTesting.com), is a joint venture that performs various testing, such as failure analysis and materials testing. Since it has spun out, this business has grown tremendously.
 
Going forward, we have the world’s strongest aluminum, called MetPreg (www.metpreg.com), a thermal protection system for rockets, called Faraday Thermal Protection Systems (www.FaradayTPS.com), and a graphite produced from coal waste all in development and yet to spin out. 

In 2020, Touchstone and a group of investors moved Veloxint to Touchstone’s campus. Veloxint (www.veloxint.com) utilizes a technology, under a license from MIT that represents the cumulation of 15 years of research, based on nanocrystalline metal alloys for additive manufacturing, metal injection molding, and press and sintering.
