Founded in 2003 by Theodore Touloukian, Touloukian Touloukian Inc. is an an award-winning architecture and urban design firm located in Boston. For over a decade, we have provided master planning, programming and feasibility studies, comprehensive design services, and construction administration for public and private entities, institutions, corporations and developers. We manage our design decisions with the construction budgets and their financial pro-formas by presenting our clients with options that convey varying orders of magnitude. Designing within a budget is essential to our practice as we strive to attain the highest value throughout the process. Our Projects have had construction costs ranging from one hundred thousand to fifteen million dollars. We have extensive permitting experience through Chapter 30, 40B and 149 processes. Through this evaluation, we arrive at designs that will meet our client's financial, scheduling, sustainable and programmatic needs. In response to these constraints, we work within levels of simplicity that produce unique statements of creative selection, organization and articulation. Our approach to using standard parts, materials and connections in unique arrangements is a philosophy that allows us to create “custom” designs within a practical and cost-effective model. The results are successful projects with an identity and a balance of art, function and utility, with a style all our own. We excel in feasibility studies and master plan services for specialized projects in rural & urban locations that require complex zoning, historical oversight, regulatory design review and permitting.
