The Town of Paradise is a small, locally governed municipality in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California, serving about 9,000 residents and located roughly 15 miles east of Chico and 80 miles north of Sacramento. Founded in 1979, it operates under a council-manager form of government with a five-member Town Council elected at large and a Town Manager who leads staff to implement council priorities, delivering essential services such as public safety, planning and building safety, public works and street maintenance, and housing and business development programs. The town serves residents and local businesses that rely on safe community services, orderly development, and reliable infrastructure. It has been in the process of recovery and rebuilding since the 2018 Camp Fire. A notable recent development is the May 2026 launch of a Building Code Complaint and Corrective Action Plan Feedback Form to collect building code complaints against contractors and to solicit feedback on Building Division operations.
