Sullivan’s Island is a two and a half-mile long barrier island near the entrance of the Charleston Harbor and is home to 1,891 full-time residents according to the 2020 Census. The Island maintains a long tradition of historic and environmental preservation with multiple National Historic Landmarks, National Register Historic Districts, protected lands and pristine beaches. Residents and visitors have long enjoyed the small-town charm and relaxed lifestyle that the Island has to offer in addition to the many community sponsored special events held each year throughout its quaint commercial district. 

The Town of Sullivan’s Island is a full service municipal government that provides the following services for the community: Police, Fire, Building Inspections, Planning and Zoning, Code Enforcement, Public Works and Maintenance, Water, Sewer and Waste Water Treatment Facilities.
