Transcription Certification Institute or TCI, headquartered in Nashville, TN, was started in November 2008, by a group having more than 15 years of experience as transcriptionists, proofreaders, and transcription company ownership. It provides training and certification to aspiring transcriptionists and proofreaders. 

The TCI course comprises of 11 general transcription lessons in which you'll learn about transcription tips, grammar, punctuation, interruptive dialogue, sentence structure, proofreading, keyboard skills, regional accents, MS-Word, time management, and  privacy rules. Those who complete this course with a minimum qualifying grade also become eligible for an internship program offered by TCI.

The TCI Job Board is a platform that caters to the requirements of both employers and the job seekers. Companies/employers seeking transcriptionists globally post their requirements here, which can be specific or general, while those seeking suitable transcription jobs can apply for them directly from here.

If an aspiring transcriptionist wants to test their transcription proficiency, they can check out for transcription practice files on the TCI website. These practice files will help them gain hands-on experience in learning how to transcribe and control audio playback using a foot pedal. They can also compare the completed transcript on the transcription practice test interface, where they will get a score that reflects their current transcription proficiency level.
